The AI tool can spot 95% of cancers according to research. It enables a 'one-day diagnostics' service that could save men up to a month of waiting, reducing weeks of worry and uncertainty. The faster diagnosis pathway could also move care closer to home, with AI-assisted MRI scans potentially being performed in community diagnostic centers. The trial aims to substantially increase the number of patients having suspected cancer diagnosed or ruled out within 28 days, leading to faster treatment and better outcomes for patients and their families. It could also increase capacity for NHS workforce and lead to cost savings.
