- The AI technology was first tested by clinicians at Great Ormond Street before being expanded to the London Ambulance Service. It's currently being used in the clinical hub of the 999 control room where senior paramedics provide telephone assessments to patients. The technology listens to and digitally transcribes conversations between clinicians and patients, automatically transforming spoken words into structured medical notes that are then checked and approved by paramedics. Around 20% of patients calling 999 in London are treated over the phone and can benefit from this technology. Paramedics in ambulances have also tested the tool for face-to-face conversations with patients. The trial results have informed the Government's 10-year Health Plan for England. [Source]
